My Monsoon Program

Hello all,

Monsoon has knocked the doors of Western Ghats and soon it would pour heavily. Slowly gradually the dry leaf litter would turn in green foliage. The carpet in jungle would be erupted with Hill Turmeric, Yellow Ground star, Ground Lily, Spiral Ginger, Sensitive Smithia, Ringed Flower-vines, Pinda & Begonia. The floral life in Western Ghats would see dramatic change and that is much welcomed. Hill slopes, platues & gushing waterfalls would give new lifeform to the flora & fauna of the region.

Hence, my camera , my rucksack, my trek pant and my wind sheet all are desperate to go out in midst of that green foliage, that we’ve been waiting for from last 8 months. My favorite treks would be as usual to Matheran, Rajmachi, Nagla, Karnala, Tungareshwar, Malshej, Yeoor, Chinchoti, Bhimashankar, Kas & SGNP.

I have limitation of weakly offs; hence I am only suppose to go on Wednesday, which is my compensatory off. Being working in Real Estate from last 6 years, I am aware that Saturdays/Sundays I’ve to be in office and have to attend walk-in customer, who look for buying new property.

I am listing my upcoming schedule, I am sorry if it is not on weekends.

9th June , 2010 to Tungareshwar WLS (Vasai Road-E).

23rd June, 2010 to Yeoor Forest Range (northern part of SGNP, Mumbai)

30th June, 2010 at Matheran (in search of elusive unIDed flower at Panorama point in Western Ghats)

23-25th July, 2010 on long monsoon trek to Lonavala-Bhimashankar Route (Western Ghats)

11th August, 2010 to Karnala Bird Sanctuary (10 kms from Panvel Bus stand, in Western Ghats)

18th August, 2010 at Southern gate of Sanjay Gandhi National Park.

25th August, 2010 to Malshej Ghat (in Western Ghats).

08th September, 2010 to Sanjay Gandhi National Park (SGNP), Mumbai.

15th September, 2010 to Nagla Block (northern part of SGNP)

22nd September, 2010 to Chinchoti (Southern part of Tungareshwar WLS)

29th September, 2010 to Kas (near Satara, in Western Ghats)

AND then, in end of October, I am busy for Himalayan Bird Count, Dehradun (The Great Himalayan Mountain Range).
